Hello and welcome! My name is Karen and I am a 35-year-old female from South Wales, UK. I hope you enjoy reading my blog as I start my journey across the Primitivo route of the Camino de Santiago this summer.
Many people have asked me why am I blogging my journey, and what do I hope to achieve from blogging? Well, blogging for me is not about having the highest ‘hits’ or about being the perfect blogger, so apologise in the advance for the bad grammar or spelling…….My blogs are going to be about recording my personal experience/ journey across the Camino, which will hopefully give you the reader some useful tips about the Camino Primitivo and also allow my family/friends to enjoy the journey with me.
People who know me personally would tell you that I am by no means a ‘hiking girl’, and I am your typical 4* package holiday girl who enjoys packing a heavy suitcase and lounging on a sunbed for 2 weeks. So, walking for 12 days across Spain with just a rucksack, your mind and staying in albergues, is ‘for sure’ going to be a shock to the system and way out of my comfort zone, so watch out for some funny stories!

So why a camino?…….the million-dollar question I ask myself daily, when a person rolls their eyes at me or thinks I’m crazy when I tell them what I’m doing for a holiday this year! But to be honest as I write this introduction I have no idea really why I’m doing it.
People say the Camino is a journey and you figure it out when your there, so I am hoping by the time I finish my journey I can tell you why! So, enjoy the reading and please feel free to follow me.
xx
